The Rasesa Social Picnic, a biannual event which saw its inception on the 1st October 2016 is back again this Saturday. Founded by Bakang ‘DJ Bakito’ Phiri, the event, according to the organisers, “is an out of town picnic experience held at a venue with beautiful greenery giving a good picnic atmosphere; people sitting on plush green grass, surrounded by beautiful flowers and vibing to the best music.”

All people need to do is bring their camp chairs and picnic blankets and come relax and have some fun under the sun. “This event is tailored for the whole family; we will have a kiddie’s corner which will have Jumping Castles, a clown, face painting and kiddie’s treats. Everybody else can look forward to our cocktail bars, food stalls, pool table and great music from the best of our local DJs. Also look out for special appearances from, Baxon and Ammo Ski Mask,” said a media release from Phiri.

It said the Rasesa Social Picnic has been working hand in hand with the Rasesa Youth Committee on a number of community development project. In September 2017 the youth committee in Partnership with Botswana Oil Limited organized a cleanup campaign which Phiri’s team was part of.

“Formal proceeding were held at the Kgotla from there participants went around the village to pick up litter. After that two signage boards that direct people entering the village to the Kgotla were unveiled, this was also an initiative by the Rasesa Youth Committee. On the same day we donated P3000 to the Youth Committee which so far has been used to develop and nature talent in Rasesa through football tournaments and Beauty Pageants,” the statement said.

The coming weekend’s event will be held at Masa Gardens in Rasesa. Tickets prices are P50 early bird (Sold Out) P70 Normal and P100 on the day of the event. Tickets are available at all Webticket outlets.

The sponsors of the event include Yarona FM, Paper Clip Printing, Hyundai Botswana, Masa Gardens and AudioTech. The next event is scheduled to be held on the 6th October 2018.
