Ndzinge takes over at Kgori Capital

  • Takes over from the troubled Seretse who is linked to the multi-million fraud case
  • Ndzinge and Seretse are some of the founders of the citizen-owned asset management firm

Local asset management firm Kgori Capital, last week appointed founding member, Alphonse Ndzinge, as its new Managing Director (MD), the company has confirmed. Ndzinge takes over the reign from former MD, Bakang Seretse who resigned from the position late last year following his alleged involvement in a multi-million Pula scandal related to the National Petroleum Fund.

Kgori Capital Board of Directors announced Ndzinge’s appointment last week, which they explained it was with immediate effect.

Board chairman, Tebogo Naledi stated: “We are very pleased with the appointment of Ndzinge as Managing Director. While it comes at a challenging time, it represents a very exciting future for the business as we embark on our next chapter with renewed purpose and vigour. Our resolve and will to serve our clients and our society remains sharply in focus”.

“This is a tremendous honour, and I cannot imagine a more important and exciting time for Kgori Capital,” said Ndzinge. “As a 100% citizen owned and run business that has always aimed high, we believe we are a testament to the fact that we, as Batswana, can make our mark and an evident difference in the market. Our team of extremely passionate and talented Batswana investment professionals make Kgori well-positioned to retain our position as the investment manager of choice, boxing with the very best both locally and internationally. The Kgori Capital team is strong, focused and committed to our stakeholders, customers, supporters, family and friends, whom we look forward to serving well into the future.”

Ndzinge’s current leadership responsibilities include serving on the Board of Kgori Capital as an Executive Director, participation in the various sub-committees of the Board as well as the Management Committee of Kgori Capital since inception of the firm in 2012. He has been Chief Investment Officer of Kgori Capital since inception and has developed and overseen all aspects of the firm’s investment management function.

He will continue to oversee the investment management process with the support of senior members of the investment team without compromising Kgori’s promise of providing excellent investment outcomes for clients.

Ndzinge has 14 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to co-founding Kgori, Ndzinge held the position of Portfolio Manager at Investec Asset Management. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder. He holds a Bachelor of Business degree in Finance and Management Information Systems (Summa Cum Laude) from The Richard J.
