The 2021 African Junior Championship title holder performed well during her first 2022 international tennis tournament at Rafa Nadal academy in Manacor, Spain.
The tournament which started on the 7th February 2022, is rated J3 and is part of the ITF World Juniors Tour.
The top ranked female player in Botswana, Youri, lost 6-1, 6-2
in the quarter finals to 3rd seed Mathilde Ngijol Carre of France.
Youri kick started the tournament in good spirits as she faced Ines Costa of Spain on the first round, and defeated her 6-0, 6-3 which automatically putting her through to the second round.
Youri faced Maria Masankaia of Russia on the second round and won 6-1,5-7,6-3 to secure a place at the quarterfinals where she faced Mathilde Ngijol Carre.
Botswana Tennis Association rallied behind Youri throughout her journey in Spain until the finish line.
Ekua Refillwe Youri triumphed the 20201 African Junior Championships title under the category of girls singles at the under 16 games in Tunis, Tunisia last year December.
