The People’s Republic of China donated medical supplies to Botswana this morning. The medical supplies that were donated today include 80 ventilators, 70 oxygen generators, 600 infrared thermometers, 30 000 N95 face masks and 50 000 surgical face masks.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony The Minister for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration Mr Kabo Morwaeng has expressed gratitude to the People’s Republic of China for their continued support to Botswana. Minister Morwaeng conveyed the appreciation this morning at the official handing over of medical supplies donated by the Chinese Embassy in Botswana.
He said Botswana prides herself in the mutual beneficial relations with the people of China who are always willing to extend a helping hand. He further said the contribution made by the people of China and other development partners has been instrumental in Botswana’s fight against Covid-19.
Chinese Ambassador to Botswana Dr Zhao Yanbo buttressed the two nations’ good relations saying their friendship is more precious than gold. Dr Zhao Yanbo said the fight against Covid-19 has proved that solidary and cooperation are essential for effective results. He gave the assurance that China will continue giving their support.
